Aspects That Affect Divorce Rates

Research has revealed the sad truth about marriages nowadays. What is it? The rates of divorce. It cannot be denied that the divorce rates are getting pretty much high. Like in America, Australia, Canada and Puerto Rico, their divorce rate is 40-50%. That is half of the couples married! Japan ranks second as it has a divorce rate of 28%; while European countries such as France, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and the UK follow with a divorce rate of 19-28%.Thailand and other Asian countries only have a divorce rate of 7-11% but they are not the lowest as India only has a surprising percentage of 1%.

Though the Asian countries have a small divorce rate, there are unmonitored separations or unreported because these countries are thought of as conservative. They thought that because these places have no legal provisions to divorce, there are no separations; there are but it is just hidden.

There are also other aspects that can affect the divorce rate of a certain place. The age range for example can actually contribute to it a lot. Some young couples marry each other very soon without thinking the consequences of getting married. Once they experience the feeling and they do not like it, they just sign a divorce contract and throw the marriage away. Young couples are more likely not to know what they are getting into. They lack knowledge and experience and yet they seek marriage as soon as possible.

Children have very big roles in a family. They are also an aspect that can affect the divorce rate. Couples with children tend not to separate because they know that it can affect their kids. If both parties care for the children, they will try to save their marriage for the sake of their kids. Though there are still couples who split even they have children, it is much likely for couples not to split.

Though many think that the biggest aspect that can affect the divorce rate of a certain place is religion, it is actually not. Studies conducted showed that religion has a really small part in affecting the divorce rate.

There are many things that affect divorce rates but whatever they are, we should be aware that many couples are not taking this sacred union seriously. They should be counselled and they should learn from their experiences before taking such thing. Marriage is holy so it should not be thought of as nothing.
